Goals: How to get thereTo reach your goals, you need a flight plan, according to Brian Tracy, a nationally known speaker on success and leadership. He files this Flight Plan in his new book by the same name: Verbalization: Write down a clear, specific, and measurable goal. You can't hit a target you can't see. You cannot achieve a goal you cannot express clearly in words. The more time you take to be precise and accurate in your description of your goal - whether it's weight loss or increasing activity levels, for example - the easier it will be for you to make sure that every step you take is in the right direction. Visualization: All improvements in your outer life begin with an improvement in your mental pictures of yourself and your desired future. Every time you replay the picture of you achieving your perfect goal, you imprint this message deeper and deeper into your subconscious mind - and the faster it will appear in your reality. Emotionalization: You actually create within yourself the feelings that you would experience if you had already attained the goal. Imagine the feelings of joy, happiness, pride, and pleasure you will feel. Multiply your mental powers for goal attainment. Rationalization: Write down all the reasons why you want to reach this goal and all the benefits you will enjoy when you get there. The more reasons you have, the more motivated and determined you will become.
